Location

The GLD Enterprises Whip Artistry Studio is located in Jamestown, Ohio, about 30 minutes east of Dayton. The studio is an independent structure outfitted for the sole purpose of teaching the art of the whip in sport and performing arts.

Our location near Dayton, Ohio gives us a unique advantage. We are strategically located in the center of the triangle between Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus, Ohio. We are also at the center of America's most populated 90-minute air market. The 90-minute market reaches over 137 million people stretching to Chicago, New York, and other major metropolitan areas. As a result, we can quickly and inexpensively bring our shows, workshops, and lectures to most of the Midwest and east coast.

As a matter of history, Ohio has been the birthplace to many unique and culturally changing inventions, people, and events. For examples, the character of Superman originated in Cleveland. The first airplanes were tested and developed by the Wright Brothers only 30 minutes from our location.  Ohio has given us more US Presidents than any other state.

And let's not forget, many motion picture and television entertainers as well as western performers are from Ohio. Twentieth-century entertainers born in Ohio include Melina Kanakaredes (b. 1967) of Akron; Clark Gable (1901-1960) of Cadiz; Roy Rogers (1911-1998) and Doris Day (b. 1924) of Cincinnati; Dorothy Dandridge (1922-1965), Ruby Dee (b. 1923), Paul Newman (b. 1925), Arsenio Hall (b. 1956), Drew Carey (b. 1958), and Halle Berry (b. 1968) of Cleveland; Martin Sheen (b. 1940) of Dayton; Sarah Jessica Parker (b. 1965) of Nelsonville; Lillian Gish (1893-1993) of Springfield; Dean Martin (1917-1995) of Steubenville; and Jamie Farr (Cpl. Klinger of M*A*S*H - b. 1934) and Katie Holmes (b. 1978) of Toledo.
